thank you dad
"mama, do you love your daddy?"- my daughter asked while i sat next to my dad.
"of course, i do" i replied, "and i know you will always love your daddy just as much"
when my parents were divorced i was older, but still was deeply affected by it. it is challenging to watch two people go through such a deep sense of loss and separation of an ideal they both created.
what i learned from it was how much my mom wanted to taint my version of what my dad was.
i craved to have the space to know him...
i finally set a boundary with my mom about not talking about my dad.
from that moment on....the journey getting to know my dad has been incredible.
i get why my daughter needs space to have her own relationship with her father, i respect it from a personal level and hope that they create a relationship that feels good for both of them.
when two people choose to divorce it is between them...after reading emails/documents/etc from my ex- i have realized that divorce's become a game of the ego.
i have learned from my father as of late,to be in my heart.
to move forward with clarity, boundary and respect for the choice to be in the heart and give space for others to create their own journeys.
i value my daughters journey immensely.
i thank my mom for gifting me with what i do not want to give my daughter.
i choose to love the process of life- to open up to forgiveness and that its never too late to get to know my own daddy.
thank you dad, you are truly my best friend and i am so glad we are getting to know each other.
play on....
