Playward and Jenny Ward

once upon a time, jenny ward thought life was easy. she danced to her own tune without fear and played endlessly in this thing we called "life"- with awe and wonder. then others began to tell her that life is not easy and that she will need to "grow up" she began to remember what it was like for her when she was a kid. she explored the meaning of freedom, play and ease and created Playward.

Guest Blog Writer: Natalie Maisel!

Hey play activists!

We have decided to celebrate rockin people by having guest writers sneak in and share their awesome gifts with you.
Cool huh?

I am big fan of people creating from their heart what THEY want to do in the world. It does take courage to step out of the "system box" and begin to do your own thing- but I would not change it for the world.
Life is ours- it is what WE make it. begin to follow that voice within you that wants to EXPLORE- and see what magic comes out of it.
speaking of magic-
Natalie is a magical soul.
Check out her website too...she HAS alot of wonderful things to share ...and she is a rockin Yoga teacher.
enjoy!
"Personal Magick"

There is a part of each of us that is connected to Divine Source at all times. You may call this part of you spirit, God, Goddess, Buddha, Krishna, love, anything at all!

Taking the time to do ritual connects us to our ancestors and the way in which they honored the seasonal changes and lunar phases. Our ancestors kept In touch with the energies that were present on the earth. Many of us live our busy lives in a concrete jungle and can often times feel detached from the seasonal wheel.

Doing ritual can be as simple as sitting quietly and lighting a candle, or as elaborate as joining with a group and invoking particular Gods and Goddesses with chanting and spiral dancing, etc.

Here's a ismple ritual to bring the quality of balance into your life...

Set aside some time to do ritual by turning off the phone, and trying to keep distractions at a minimum.

Sit quietly and follow your breath. Begin to breathe in and out a few times, trying to make your inhale the same duration as your exhale. As you breathe, begin to feel a sense of balance settling into your body, and thoughts.

No matter how scattered or distracted you may feel in your life right now, simply breathe into the quality of balance and imagine it lighting up like a golden light in every cell of your body and every fiber of your being.

Stay with this for a few moments of silence. Then write down the word balance several times. Think of what "being balanced" means to you. What would your life look and feel like if you were balanced? Write down what that looks like and feels like. Hold images of being balanced in your mind. And whenever you start to feel that sense of chaos and imbalance entering in, simply breathe, and recall the balance that you are creating in this moment.

You are divine! You are perfect! You ARE balanced!
